Melanie Foster
Melanie Foster was born and raised in Northwest Indiana and currently resides with her husband in Demotte, Indiana. She graduated in 1985 and worked as a certified surgical technician at a local hospital. Melanie is a graduate of Calumet College of St. Joseph with dual degrees in paralegal studies and criminal justice. She joined the legal field as a paralegal in 1997 and has worked for some of Northwest Indiana's top litigators. Melanie spent 16 years working in the plaintiff's personal injury and medical malpractice with the law offices of Barry Sherman & Associates and Sarkisian, Sarkisian & Associates. She also spent 9 years working in the insurance defense industry with the firms of Hoeppner Wagner & Evans and Tolbert & Tolbert. Melanie has extensive trial experience and enjoys helping clients navigate the litigation process. She joined Brian Smith Law Group, PC, in 2022 as a senior litigation paralegal. In her spare time, she loves to garden and spend time with her grandchildren.
Kelly
Kelly has been working for Attorney Brian Smith since 2004, starting as a legal assistant before attending Ivy Tech and becoming a paralegal in 2010. She is married and has two small children. When not working, she enjoys attending church, working at her small homestead with her farm animals, and gardening. Kelly mainly handles the dissolution, and estate planning files.
Laura Murphy
Laura became a member of the Smith Law Group in August 2023 as a legal assistant. She handles the retrieval of records and other various office duties. Laura mainly works on personal injury, dissolution, and estate planning cases. She is married and has two adult children. When not working, she spends her time with her family.
Kristie
Kristie has been working for Attorney Brian Smith for about 4 years now. She graduated from Ball State University in 2001. She is married and has four children. When not at work, she enjoys attending her children's sporting events and is a devoted member of her local church. Kristie handles the finances and billing in the firm.
